Kashmir Cleric: Glaring Contradiction Between Global Powers' Human Rights Rhetoric and Actions

Magam, Kashmir — A Kashmiri cleric has criticized the US and Zionist approach toward Iran, highlighting the contradiction between the human rights slogans of world powers and their political and military conduct, and warning that the spread of Islamophobia and extremism threatens global peace.

Hawzah News Agency- Hojatoleslam Seyyed Mujtaba Abbas Mousavi, secretary-general of the Shia Religious Association of Jammu and Kashmir, made the remarks in his Friday prayer sermons in Magam, Kashmir.

In his first sermon, explaining the importance of piety, he said God-wariness is not limited to outward acts of worship and religious rituals, but its truth must manifest in one's character, behavior, social relations and the way one fulfills responsibilities toward others.

Citing the teachings of Imam Ali (AS), Mousavi described piety as the firmest foundation of human life and patience as the most effective shield against hardships, trials and moral deviations.

He added that individuals and societies can confront social and moral challenges only when they strengthen their spiritual and moral foundations, adhere to self-restraint and persevere on the path of divine principles and values.

Hazrat Fatima Zahra (SA): An Eternal Model for a Life of Faith

The secretary-general of the Shia Religious Association of Jammu and Kashmir went on to describe the lofty status, unique personality and valuable services of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (SA) in safeguarding Islamic teachings.

He described her conduct as an enduring model of faith, servitude, sacrifice, dignity and adherence to divine principles, calling on believers to deeply understand the message and truth of her life and to bring Fatimid teachings and values into their individual and social lives.

Love for the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) Must Manifest in Behavior and Action

In another part of his remarks, Mousavi stressed that true love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the pure Ahl al-Bayt (AS) is not limited to verbal expressions of devotion and emotional attachment, but must manifest in behavior, adherence to divine rulings, observance of morality and practice of their teachings.

Citing prophetic traditions, he stressed the inseparable bond between faith, love for the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) and the fulfillment of religious duties and obligations.

The Friday Prayer Imam of Magam also described the Holy Quran as the primary and ultimate source of divine guidance, noting that Muslims must establish a deep and continuous connection with the Quran and draw on its guidance in all areas of life.

Criticism of US and Zionist Aggressive Policies

In another part of his Friday sermons, the religious scholar sharply criticized the aggressive policies of the United States and the Zionist regime, particularly their military actions and hostile approach toward the Islamic Republic of Iran, questioning the moral and political conduct of these powers.

He said countries that present themselves as defenders of democracy, human rights and freedom often remain silent in the face of military aggression, the suffering of civilians and violations of international principles.

Mousavi said current world developments have exposed the deep gap between the principles and slogans proclaimed by major powers and their actual conduct.

Expressing concern over the spread of religious extremism, Islamophobia and discriminatory political approaches, he warned that these currents pose a serious threat to global peace, peaceful coexistence and human values.

Referring to India's political and social conditions, the secretary-general of the Shia Religious Association of Jammu and Kashmir expressed concern over growing religious divides and the instrumental exploitation of religious sentiments for political ends, saying the protection of democratic values, constitutional principles, religious freedoms and equal rights for all citizens is an undeniable necessity.

He warned that policies and behaviors that widen the gap between different religious and social groups harm the solidarity and cohesion of society.

Mousavi also called on the people to remain vigilant against political and social issues, to follow developments around them with precision and responsibility, and to firmly reject any hate-mongering, discrimination and injustice.

In conclusion, he called on believers to strengthen their connection with God, practically follow the conduct of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), and manifest religious values in their behavior and daily lives.

The religious scholar noted that adherence to principles such as patience, piety, unity, empathy and justice is an essential necessity for confronting the challenges facing the Islamic community and humanity.
